I have found a treasure, and a new friend. The treasure is a book with the unusual title of I Was Blind (Dating), But Now I See, and the friend is a woman named Stephanie Rische, the book’s author. This oh-so-wise, sweetly endearing little volume was published by Tyndale Momentum in January of 2016. What exactly is it about, you ask? I’ll let Stephanie, gifted storyteller that she is, explain:
“The Story of the Resurrection as You’ve Never Seen It Before”.

Have you ever read one of Jesus’ parables and wondered, “What did He mean to convey with this story? What was His purpose in choosing the specific time, place, and audience for that particular parable? And how does this story connect to other, similar examples?” If these thoughts have ever crossed your mind, you will be delighted to discover a new book published by Thomas Nelson and written by bestselling author and pastor John MacArthur. It is entitled Parables: The Mysteries of God’s Kingdom Revealed Through the Stories Jesus Told.
I recently finished the most beautiful, heartwarming, charming book that I have had the pleasure of reading in quite some time. It had only one glaring drawback – the ending arrived much too soon! What is this delightful book, you ask? Well, it is a standalone story entitled Until the Dawn, written by Elizabeth Camden and published by Bethany House in January of 2016. If you enjoy historical novels of any kind, this book will instantly win you over with its sweet sincerity and unique characters, plus a storyline that will keep you turning pages long into the night!
Julie Klassen’s newest novel, The Painter’s Daughter, was released from Bethany House in December of 2015. Seeing this talented storyteller’s name on a new book, I automatically assumed I would enjoy it as much as her previous work, namely The Dancing Master and The Secret of Pembrooke Park. After reading the synopsis for this new story, however, I was slightly hesitant to request a review copy. A young women in serious trouble, a hasty marriage of convenience between strangers, and a too-late reunion of love lost – that sounded like a possible recipe for inappropriate content! Ultimately, I decided to trust Miss Klassen and request the title anyway, hoping the main storyline did not focus primarily on these details.
