A Charming Christmas Conclusion!

What could be better than a farewell visit to our favorite little English village of Ivy Hill? A visit that takes place during the Christmas season, of course! Julie Klassen has given her readers a wonderful holiday gift by sharing one last story about the characters we came to know and love in her three-book series “Tales From Ivy Hill”, plus we get to meet a few new faces as well. “The Brides of Hope Mountain” Reaches a Climax and Conclusion!

Sigh… You know that bittersweet feeling when you reach the final page of the concluding book in a series, knowing that your time with the characters is finished? “The Brides of Hope Mountain” series, written by Mary Connealy and published by Bethany House, has reached the end, and so our time with the three Nordegren sisters is over as well. “Her Secret Song” has long been on my reading list because I was so intrigued (and sometimes annoyed!) by the oldest of the three sisters, Ursula, but we had to wait patiently to see her story revealed. Another Stellar Story from Jennifer Delamere!

Hurray! A new series by Jennifer Delamere begins! “Line by Line” is the first book in her “Love Along the Wires” series, and I adored each page of this delightful Christian Historical novel from Bethany House. Set in London in 1880, this is a story that is compelling, witty, and sweetly romantic – with plenty of unexpected twists to keep readers guessing along the way.

At first I thought “Line by Line” was going to be a feministic story filled with the movement for women’s rights and independence, and all the things that go along with that. (That’s not to say this is a bad thing, but I don’t generally care for stories that lean too much towards the “women don’t need men at all” mindset). Anyways, this wasn’t ultimately the case in this story, Continue reading

Thought-Provoking New Novel from Rachel Fordham

Although she is a relatively new author, Rachel Fordham is quickly making a name for herself with gentle historical stories filled with faith, hope, and love. Her newest release from Revell publishers is entitled “A Life Once Dreamed”, and although it is a gently moving story, it also features some pretty deep themes and character struggles. Mixed Feelings About New “Hearts of Montana” Story – Guest Review by Hayley

If you read the first installment of the “Hearts of Montana” series, then you will probably be eager for this one as well.

I was excited to read “Love’s Mountain Quest”, but I’m finding that I have somewhat mixed feelings about this book.  Some parts I liked and other parts I didn’t.  There is enough adventure in this book to please even the bravest of thrill-seekers, as well as great lessons in faith and character.  But there is also enough sadness and pain and anguish that it can feel like a bit of a downer. Another Unforgettable Release In Elizabeth Camden’s “Hope And Glory” Series

I have been excitedly awaiting the release of “A Gilded Lady” ever since I finished “The Spice King” (the first book in Elizabeth Camden’s “Hope and Glory” series). It was everything I hoped for and more! I can’t wait for Bethany House to release the third and final installment in the series – I’m hoping it’s sooner than later. . . Continue reading

Finally! A New Karen Witemeyer Novel!

Each summer I look forward to a new release from one of my favorite authors of Christian Historical Fiction… Karen Witemeyer! Her summer 2020 release from Bethany House is actually the first book in a new series called “Hanger’s Horsemen” and was well worth the wait! If you love western adventures, clean romances, and stories that will tug at your heartstrings, look no further than “At Love’s Command”. Continue reading

I Can’t Believe This Is A Debut Novel!

“A Mosaic of Wings” by Kimberly Duffy is one of the most unique and captivating works of historical fiction I’ve read in a long time. . . It is very difficult to believe this is a debut novel! Published by Bethany House, this powerful book leaps into topics I’ve never before encountered in the genre, and the result was utterly enchanting. Continue reading

The Final Chapter in an Unforgettable Journey – Guest Review by Hayley

For those who have followed Lisa T. Bergren’s latest series, “The Sugar Baron’s Daughters”, the last installment of “Selah” has been long-awaited.  And what a finale it is. Continue reading

You Won’t Be Able to Stop Reading “The Bride Ships” Book #2!

When I pick up a Jody Hedlund novel, I expect a story that completely captivates my imagination with vivid characters, while immersing me in a unique time and place in history. She rarely disappoints. “The Runaway Bride” is the second book in “The Bride Ships” series published by Bethany House, and is at fault for causing me to read late into the night (and simultaneously wake up tired the next morning) because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next! Continue reading
