This book… I’m certain it’s destined to become a classic, truly. It’s so multidimensional, it has so many different elements of living life and growing up and finding your place in the world… and it somehow manages to speak to readers across the board, regardless of our experience, age, past, or present. “The Best Summer Of Our Lives” is the newest release by Rachel Hauck, and I hands-down describe it as a work of art. Unusual… And Beautiful
What a unique story this was, on so many levels…. “This Is Where It Ends” by Cindy Sproles is a slow, contemplative, redemptive, and far-reaching novel that is best slowly savored and explored, chapter by chapter. It is repetitive, but in a way that makes the characters more real because, after all, life’s struggles can be repetitive, can’t they? Continue reading
Wild West Meets Old Fashioned Fairy Tales In Karen Witemeyer’s New Series!
It truly doesn’t get any better than this, folks! Wild West meets old-fashioned fairy tale in the incredible Karen Witemeyer’s newest release from Bethany House: “Fairest of Heart”! As the first story in the “Texas Ever After” series, this tale includes all the signature qualities of a well-told western, but with a twist…. The foundational plot is straight from the tradition of a classic fairy tale we all know and love; Snow White and the Seven Dwarves! Continue reading
A Unique, Heavy, Beautiful Experience – Guest Review by Hayley

“The Words We Lost” is the latest gem from Nicole Deese. It’s a powerful and unique reading experience for many reasons.
Kelly Balarie’s Most Powerful Book Yet
I have found that books by Kelly Balarie are difficult to review for one simple reason: there is such a vast amount of information and teaching inside each chapter that I’m rather at a loss of how to even touch on a small portion of it! Her new release from BakerBooks, entitled “Take Every Thought Captive: Exchange Lies of the Enemy for the Mind of Christ” is completely overflowing with insights and wisdom, yet remains very practical and ‘doable’ for women in any phase of life. Continue reading
A Fair Warning – You Won’t Be Able To Put It Down!
Oh how I adored this book! I’m not surprised, really, because Ann Gabhart’s name is on the cover and so OF COURSE it will be good, and it was! “In the Shadow of the River” is one of my favorite Christian Historical Fiction novels I’ve read in awhile, perhaps because of the sheer uniqueness of the setting – and the talent of bringing these interesting characters’ stories to life. I also appreciated how well-drawn the backstory was, and how childhood memories played such a foundational role in how the story played out in our heroine’s adult life. Continue reading
A Practically Perfect Addition to the Genre
I was so excited to find out that one of my favorite author-duos is back with a brand new series for all of their loyal fans! “The Heart’s Choice” is the first story in Tracie Peterson and Kimberly Woodhouse’s new “Jewels of Kalispell” series, and what a fabulous start it was. The story is compelling, the history is clearly well-researched and filled with fascinating tidbits, and as always the characters leap off the pages. This story also features a murder mystery, and of course a sweet and lovely (and clean!) romance. Continue reading
The Talent Of This Author – Amazing!
I truly don’t know how Jaime Jo Wright manages to bring forth so many new titles so quickly – but believe me, they never show even the slightest decline in content, quality, or imagination, I promise! To the contrary, “The Vanishing at Castle Moreau” is actually one of my favorites of her novels to date. Continue reading
The Best Story I’ve Read This Year!
Jocelyn Green’s new releases are always at the very top of my reading list, simply because they are incredible stories filled with little-known historical insights, all told with a rich and masterful writer’s voice. “The Metropolitan Affair” is probably the best story I’ve read so far this year, and I highly recommend it to all fans of historical fiction. And one of the best parts? It’s only the first story in a new series, “On Central Park”, so we have more historic New York drama to look forward to soon! Continue reading
A Compelling Conclusion to a Tumultuous Tale – Guest Review by Hayley
As the last of “The Blackstone Legacy” novels, “Hearts of Steel” delivers quite an epic conclusion to the series.
In “Hearts of Steel” we finally get a deeper look at Liam’s story, and the person he has become after being reunited with his family after decades apart. Also, Maggie is quite a different heroine than the others in this series have been, as she comes from a poverty-stricken family rather than the Blackstone clan. Continue reading
