Sweet and Light – Like a Pastry!

“The Key to Love” is the first book I’ve read by Betsy St. Amant. Published by Revell in the autumn of 2020, this sweet, baking-inspired story is certain to touch your heart and tickle your taste-buds as we watch romance unfold between the most unexpected of couples!

January is a month of goal-setting and resolutions. This month I’ve started a new daily habit that I’m hoping will kick-start my creativity for writing again, and I think all writers (aspiring or experienced) will enjoy it as much as I do. “My Unedited Writing Year: 365 Invitations to Free Your Creativity and the Writer Within” was written by Hope Lyda and published by Harvest House at the end of 2019. It is truly a one-of-a-kind volume. I’ve been following along with the prompts every day this month, and am enthusiastic to continue using this interactive journal for the entire year of 2020 – who knows what will come of this exciting adventure?! The Long-Awaited Conclusion to an Unforgettable Series
For me, and I’m sure for many readers, it is always a bittersweet moment when you reach the final pages of a series that has worked its way deep into your heart and imagination. As one of my favorite authors, many of Michael Phillips’ series are very dear to me; but perhaps none quite so much as his latest work entitled “Secrets of the Shetlands”. It easily became my favourite book by this author, and just as easily one of my favourite novellas to read during the Christmas season. Thus, when I read the charming description of “The Writing Desk”, well, there was no way of refusing! I so much hoped for another story that would be as much a joy as the last. Continue reading
Study the Bible in a New Way
I recently discovered a fun, unique new Bible Study series called “Word Writers: Experience the Bible…Writing Word by Word”. As with most books of this kind, devotions, reflection questions, and quotes from Scripture are included in a daily reading, but with “Word Writers” there is one more – rather unusual – step… Continue reading
Great Writing + Humor + Mystery = A Delightful Story!
What fun it is to read a novel by a new-to-you author, enjoy the story immensely, and then discover that author has already written numerous other books! This was the case for me with a new Bethany House book entitled “For the Record”, written by Regina Jennings. Set in the fictional town of Pine Gap, Missouri, this book is filled with the unique flavor of Ozark mountain life in the 1880s. Despite the unique setting, however, it still contains all that fans of Inspirational Historical Romances love and expect from their favorite genre. Continue reading
