For the last couple days, I have spent every spare minute at the Chicago World’s Fair of 1893, where I witnessed an unforgettable story unfold. How did I travel back in time? Jocelyn Green’s new release from Bethany House Publishers, “Shadows of the White City”, was my time machine of choice, and as is always the case with her books it completely immersed me from start to finish. This story is the second of “The Windy City Saga”, and takes place almost twenty years after “Veiled in Smoke” occurred. All my favorite characters return in these pages, but this time it is Sylvie Townsend who is featured in the spotlight, as uncomfortable as it may be for her. . .
Regina Jennings once again delivers a well-written, compelling, and historically intriguing novel from Bethany House Publishers – plus it is the first in a new series! “Courting Misfortune” opens up “The Joplin Chronicles” with a bang, as our Pinkerton-employed heroine faces danger of all sorts in a showdown against the shady side of a rough-and-tumble mining town.
If you read the first installment of the “Hearts of Montana” series, then you will probably be eager for this one as well.
At long last, the highly anticipated conclusion to Lynn H. Blackburn’s thrilling “Dive Team Investigations” series is available! “One Final Breath” released from Revell in the fall of 2019 and is a dramatic conclusion to one of my favorite Romantic Suspense sagas. If you enjoy this genre, I definitely recommend reading the talented Ms. Blackburn’s new release. However, I do suggest reading the two previous “Dive Team Investigations” first, in order to completely appreciate the depth of characterization and storytelling that is present.
I’ve long been anticipating the third and final story in Mary Connealy’s “High Sierra Sweathearts” series, and at last “The Unexpected Champion” has been released! This exciting, sometimes-hilarious-sometimes-frightening story is a fitting conclusion to a unique series, and I’m so glad that everything is satisfactorily tied up for the family who claimed my imagination first in “The Accidental Guardian”, then “The Reluctant Warrior”.
Elizabeth Camden’s stories are always compelling and engaging, capable of sweeping her readers away with incredible, historical feats of science and engineering that are revealed through the lens of (fictional) people living in that time period. Ms. Camden’s newest release from Bethany House, “A Desperate Hope”, is another sequel to a couple of her previous books, (“A Dangerous Legacy” and “A Daring Venture”) but can very easily be read on it’s own, as well.
Title: “Code of Valor”
Whenever a new Romantic Suspense novel by Lynette Eason is released, it automatically goes on my TBR list. Filled with twisting and turning intrigue and spine-chilling suspense, “Called to Protect” is the second book in the “Blue Justice” series published by Revell. It tells the story of Officer Chloe St. John and her K-9 partner Hank, as well as Deputy US Marshall Blake MacCallum in his race against time to save his kidnapped daughter. The kidnapper’s only request? For Blake to commit murder if he wants to see his daughter alive again.
I wanted to like this book; I really did. A secret heir and a rags-to-riches story set in England… Sounds great, right? “A Most Noble Heir” was written by Susan Anne Mason and published by Bethany House, but apart from a promising premise this story just had too many faults to be truly enjoyable.
At long last, fans of the “Nikki Boyd Files” series by Lisa Harris will discover the truth about the ongoing mystery (Nikki’s missing sister) that left investigators (and readers!) puzzled for so long. “Vanishing Point” is “A Nikki Boyd Novel”, and ties in with “Vendetta”, “Missing”, and “Pursued” of the “Nikki Boyd Files” published by Revell over the past few years.
