A Story That Will Stay With You Long After Reaching “The End”

287158-heart_most_certain-sliderControversy. Scandal. Desperation. These words were not ones I expected to use when describing the newly released Bethany House book entitled “A Heart Most Certain”, written by new-to-me author Melissa Jagears. The lovely cover image, the series name of “Teaville Moral Society”, and even the back-cover synopsis did not reveal what this book was truly about. While the storyline and plot did surprise me greatly, I was not, however, disappointed in my hope for a wonderful story. It was simply wonderful in unexpected ways. Continue reading

Perfect for a Summer Afternoon

Hannon_SeaRoseLaneIf you feel like stepping into a Contemporary Romance story that feels like it belongs on the Hallmark channel, you will not want to miss the newest novel by Irene Hannon entitled “Sea Rose Lane”. Just Not as Amazing as Book #1…

Every Girl Gets Confused imageThe moment we’ve all been waiting for has arrived! Er, well, at least all the readers and subsequent fans of Katie Fisher, heroine in the first book in the Brides with Style series (Every Bride Needs a Groom) will be pleased to discover that the sequel has been released! Written by Janice Thompson and published by Revell in the autumn of 2015, Every Girl Gets Confused is a treat because it takes us back to visit people who feel like old friends, in a community that feels like home. But is the silliness still as charming as the first book, and do the annoying innuendos remain few and far between, as they most certainly should? In essence, does the sequel live up to its predecessor? Continue reading

Perfect for a Sunny Afternoon – A Guest Review by Hayley

The PhotographIt’s no secret that Beverly Lewis is arguably the best-known author in the Amish fiction genre. And when she gives her readers such a sweet, gentle novel as her newest release, The Photograph, it’s not difficult to see why.

With a graceful storyline set at a relaxed pace, The Photograph introduces us to a sweet new friend, Eva Esch, and the close-knit Amish community she calls home. Pained after losing both her father and her mother, Eva’s tender heart is put to an even further test when her sister secretly leaves The People – for extremely foolish reasons – to join the English way of life. Certain to Capture Your Imagination and Sweep You Away

Not by Sight image2 Corinthians 5:7 states, “For we live by faith, not by sight.” With these words as a foundation, the newest novel by Kate Breslin is truly a poetic masterpiece you won’t want to miss. Written with insight and tenderness, Not by Sight is a beautiful tale of love and redemption – while at the same time a powerful WWI story packed with intrigue, tension and deception. Although this Britain-based book has been endorsed as being similar to the Downton Abbey television series, I believe it greatly outshines the show in all aspects of faith, virtues and morality, and even loveable characters. Continue reading

Take a Vacation to Hope Harbor

Hope Harbor header“Come home to Hope Harbor – Where hearts heal… and love blooms.”

Hope Harbor is the first book I have read by bestselling author Irene Hannon, and I’m so glad to have discovered her. Charmingly, her prose sparkles with both realism and a tiny hint of the extraordinary. From the first pages, the town of Hope Harbor and all its residents tugged me in like a warm embrace. Continue reading

Karen Witemeyer Never Disappoints

A Worthy Pursuit imageShe’s done it again! Karen Witemeyer has once again crafted a delightful historical romance set in her signature blend of western adventure and sweet relationships between vivid characters. If you have enjoyed any of her half-dozen other novels, her newest release – A Worthy Pursuit – is not to be missed.

So much could be said about this book… With an intricate and memorable plot, primary and secondary characters who ALL seem to walk off the page, and a rugged setting, each element combines to make this title impossible to resist. Continue reading
