The final story of Jody Hedlund’s dramatic and memorable “Colorado Cowboys” series has finally been released! “The Last Chance Cowboy” tells us the story of the last McQuaid brother, Dylan, who has what just may be the most redemptive story of all five siblings. Dylan, you see, is a changed man – he’s the sheriff of Fairplay, doing his best to redeem his past and move forward into an honorable future. But one day his past catches up with him in a most unexpected way, which leads to a story that I certainly found surprising and unique! Continue reading

Healing For Your Heart And Wings For Your Imagination – Guest Review by Hayley
Having read three books now by Amanda Dykes, it is clear that this author possesses a divinely-bestowed talent with words. Rarely have I read such poetic writing in a novel. “All the Lost Places” brings readers this signature writing style in a very unique setting, one that I don’t believe I have ever seen before in a novel – Venice, and in two different time periods. Continue reading
What A Gem From Roseanna White! – guest review by Hayley
Roseanna White is one of my very favourite authors. Dual-time novels are some of my favourite books to read. A dual-time novel by Roseanna White? Well, it was destined to be fantastic from the very first page. Continue reading

Fans of Regency Era fiction will be eager to pick up Julie Klassen’s latest release, “The Sisters of Sea View.” As the beginning of her new series “On the Shores of Devonshire,” this book is a delightful read. Continue reading
Another Wonderful Series Reaches The Conclusion
I’ve immensely enjoyed Jennifer Delamere’s “Love Along the Wires” series from the very beginning, and am so happy to at last read the third and final story entitled “Holding the Line”. Here we discover the secrets of Rose Finlay’s unhappy past, and watch with delight as she encounters her own happily ever after in a most unlikely place. Continue reading
It Drove Me Crazy! (In The Best Sense :)
Wow, did this book ever drive me crazy – in all the best ways possible! “In Love’s Time” by Kate Breslin is the type of story that snatches your imagination from the first page, and holds it captive right until the very end. The twists and turns, the agonizing misunderstandings, and the beautifully drawn-out love story set in war-torn Europe were all written in such a way that I felt as though I were right in the midst of it all – and biting my nails as I witnessed it unfold! Continue reading
A Captivating Conclusion to “Secrets of the Canyon”
I adore any book with Kimberley Woodhouse’s name on it, and her “Secrets of the Canyon” novels have been some of my very favourites from the start. “A Mark of Grace” is the third and final book in the series, and brings the saga to a beautiful and memorable conclusion. While I was reading, I found myself thinking often about this story as I went about my daily tasks – and after I finished the book I was still pondering it for days afterwards! That, in my opinion, is a sign of a well-written book. Continue reading
Not Quite What I Expected – Guest Review by Hayley
As the final instalment of the “American Royalty” series, “His Delightful Lady Delia” was at the top of my TBR list, since I very much enjoyed the first two in the series. As a musician myself, I was interested in the storyline being set in an opera house, and all the behind-the-scenes politics therein.
I wanted to like this book as much as the first two, and it has good aspects in it, very good in fact. The unconditional love given to us by Christ is echoed as Kit learns more of Delia’s heritage and her parents’ sordid past. As he learns more and more of her family’s secrets, she is constantly questioning whether Kit will still accept her. In an earthly portrayal of Christ’s love, he always does. Continue reading
Amy Lynn Green Pens Another Treasure
To put it simply: anything written by Amy Lynn Green is a MUST-read for me! “The Blackout Book Club” is her newest release from Bethany House Publishers, and as always it exceeded my expectations by far. The influence of books and the power of friendship are two themes that shine so brightly from the pages of this story, and ensure that you will not come away untouched and uninspired… it simply isn’t possible! Continue reading
You Won’t Be Able to Put It Down – If You Dare To Pick It Up!
I don’t know how she does it… Jaime Jo Wright never fails to deliver a story that is simultaneously haunting yet redemptive, atmospheric yet spiritual, and macabre yet beautiful. Talk about a fascinating juxtaposition of themes! “The Premonition at Withers Farm” is one of the most gripping novels I’ve read in a long while, as the mystery and murder sweeping through a small town in the year 1910 brings mayhem and unexplainable intentions. The unexpected part? It seems to be happening again, in the same town, but this time in the present day… Continue reading
