I love reading debut novels for so many reasons… One of them is because I am never quite sure what to expect, and so often I’m blown away by the newly revealed talent of a special young author. This was the case with a summer 2022 release from Revell. Written by Sara Brunsvold, “The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip: All the wild ways to die could never compare to how she really lived” is a beautiful, unexpected, poignant tale that will make you cry and smile, laugh and ponder. It is one of those books that can be read again soon, and still you will learn so much from the wisdom held in each page. Continue reading

Not Your Typical Amish Story
I don’t know about you, but I don’t often think of the terms Amish and Murder Mystery as being simultaneous descriptions for the same novel – am I right? And yet that is exactly what “Among the Innocent” is! While technically in the romantic suspense genre, this new novel written by Mary Alford and published by Revell is a thrilling, unexpected, and deeply riveting tale that rocks a quiet Amish community to its core when a series of murders takes the lives of their near and dear. It is up to Leah Miller, herself a former Amish member and now a police officer, to solve this deadly mystery before others end up hurt. Continue reading
An Unforgettable Final Visit To Misty River

Becky Wade always pens such satisfying, sigh-worthy novels that enmesh faith, romance, and a twisting-turning plot – the result is a story that stays with you long after you reach the end. “Turn to Me” is the third and final story in the “Misty River Romance” series, and as you can imagine, it was a bittersweet moment reading the final pages. Luckily, this story in particular could definitely be read again one day soon! Continue reading
A Sweetly Fun and Heartwarming New Summer Series – Guest Review by Hayley
I was happy to see that Suzanne Woods Fisher has begun another of what I like to call summertime series. For me, a summertime series is usually light, gentle, and somewhat Hallmark-ish. And, of course, set during the summertime (or sometimes spring). This book is all of those things, and even has some loose connections to the author’s last summertime series of “Three Sisters Island.” Continue reading
Like “National Treasure” In A Novel! – Guest Review by Hayley
I have never read any other book like this before, but if I were to compare “The Master Craftsman” to a movie, it would definitely be “National Treasure.” It was such an intriguing read! And the treasure in question was not some chest of gold, or ancient gem. It was far more unique than that. The main focus of the story was the Faberge Easter Eggs. Continue reading
An Exceptional Story – Guest Review by Hayley

If you enjoyed Nicole Deese’s previous release “All That Really Matters,” then you will be excited for her new release “All That It Takes.” This book brings secondary characters from the last book into the spotlight for their own story. Continue reading
Incredibly Vivid and Atmospheric
Atmospheric. Riveting. Haunting. Unforgettable. All these words and many others have already been used to describe Jaime Jo Wright’s newest release from Bethany House Publishers, but I will use them again because you simply cannot explain “The Souls of Lost Lake” without them! Even though I finished this novel several days ago, just naming the title transports me back into the story that is so masterfully written, I truly felt as though I was there. I can picture each scene and location vividly, and watch as the characters step out of the mist and into my vision. It is almost creepy, actually, how real this story feels! Continue reading
A Fantastic Wilderness Suspense and Romance!
“Sunrise” is the first book I’ve read by Susan May Warren, but you can bet your boots it won’t be the last! As the first book in the “Sky King Ranch” trilogy from Revell, this novel swept me away to the Alaskan wilderness until I was so completely immersed that I couldn’t put it down if I tried. And then, I found myself at a shocking, no-way-to-end-a-novel cliffhanger, so now I am counting the days until the second book, “Sunburst”, is released! Continue reading
So Much More Than A Pretty Cover
I had never before read a novel by Christina Suzann Nelson, so when I picked up her new released entitled “Shaped By The Waves” I really wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew it was contemporary fiction about a girl going back to her hometown, and the cover was lovely with the ocean and seagulls gracing the eye-catching paperback… But that was about it! Boy, was I in for a surprise. Continue reading
Just A Bit Too Familiar…
I love a good princess story as much as the next girl – and when the said princess story is also a Christian Romance published by Bethany House, then you can bet that I won’t pass that one by! “In Search of a Prince” was written by Toni Shiloh, a new-to-me author with plenty of talent and potential. Continue reading
