After taking just one look at the Beautiful Word Coloring Bible, it had already surpassed my expectations. If I were going to describe it in just a couple of words, I think that most accurate would be “absolutely charming”.
The illustrations for coloring are lovely – not too intricate, but not too simple, and there are plenty of lightly lined, or blank spaces in the margins that can be used for either journaling, or for drawing your own personal creations. Since it is a Bible, the pages are rather thin, so I would recommend coloring with pencil crayons rather than markers, but the pages are still thicker than a regular Bible. A pretty, light blue ribbon marker, and a lovely presentation page make this Bible ideal to be given as a gift, or simply for your own enjoyment. I also appreciate that it is in the NIV translation.
All in all, I highly recommend the Beautiful Word Bible, whether it is for yourself, or to give as a gift. It is charming to say the least, and will undoubtedly be a wonderful addition to your devotional time, artistic endeavors, or anything else you choose!

The title of a non-fiction book does not always convey the full purpose and content of the book itself. In the case of a new book written by Scotty Smith and published by Baker Books, however, the title sums up the content perfectly… What is this book? It is called, “Every Season Prayers: Gospel-Centered Prayers for the Whole of Life”. 
Have you ever tried reading a book that had a strong message and worthwhile intentions, but you just couldn’t get into it? That was the case for me with Dr. Larry Crabb’s new release, entitled “A Different Kind of Happiness: Discovering the Joy That Comes from Sacrificial Love”. Without question there are many jewels of wisdom found within the pages of this book, but at times the language feels so deep and lengthy that those gems are difficult to uncover. Perhaps a slow and thoughtful reading is what is needed, with plenty of time between chapters to ponder and consider the author’s message… 
I was thrilled to be able to review the “Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible”. After having my interest piqued several months ago to learn more of the historical and cultural context surrounding Biblical events, I was eager to learn more, and the “Cultural Backgrounds Study Bible” provided me with a way to do just that. When a non-fiction book has the words “Essential Guide” in the sub-title, and when the same book is about a topic that relates to you as a reader, it is generally a good idea to at least give it a brief perusal… If the book also happens to be written by an acclaimed author whose work you’ve enjoyed before, well, then it becomes a must-read! This was the case for me with bestselling author Melissa Michaels’ newest release from Harvest House, entitled “Make Room for What You Love: Your Essential Guide to Organizing & Simplifying”. Three adjectives to describe this book would be promising, confusing, and misleading. “The Pug List: A Ridiculous Little Dog, a Family Who Lost Everything, and How They All Found Their Way Home” is a non-fiction book written by Alison Hodgson and published by Zondervan in the spring of 2016. When I first learned about this book, I was sure it would be a sweet story filled with anecdotes about a pug named Oliver and his new family who is struggling to recover from a terrible house fire. In reality, though, this isn’t what the book delivered…
