If I were to create a list of absolute must-read books for anyone aged 20-35, Paul Angone’s newest release would definitely be near the top! “101 Questions You Need to Ask in Your Twenties (and let’s be honest, your thirties too)” is a fantastic resource from Moody Publishers that, if applied, will undoubtedly help young adults begin thinking and living with intention and purpose. I know it has helped me immensely. Continue reading

A Fascinating Novel of Biblical History
If you enjoy reading a compelling Biblical Fiction novel once in a while, as I do, Angela Hunt is always an author you can count on to sweep you away with her masterful writing style which brings the history of God’s people to vivid life. Her newest release from Bethany House is entitled “Judah’s Wife: A Novel of the Maccabees”, and is the second story in “The Silent Years” series (preceded by “Egypt’s Sister: A Novel of Cleopatra”). A Mesmerizing and Unforgettable Story
I just finished a most remarkable journey. This was a journey of love, ambition, grief, forgiveness, truth revealed, mistakes made and lessons learned. It was powerful, unforgettable, haunting, and in many ways it was mesmerizing. And the funny thing is, this journey all happened during the innings of a single baseball game. . . “Steal Away Home” is the name of the novel that took me on this journey. Published by Thomas Nelson in the first month of 2018, it was written by a master storyteller whose work I’ve never before had the pleasure of reading – Billy Coffey. You can be sure that while this story was my first by this amazing author, it will not be my last. Continue reading
A Must-Read Before Christmas!
For many people, Christmas can be a rather controversial topic. It’s supposed to be the “most wonderful time of the year”, filled with reflection on the baby in a manger and quality time with family. While this may be the case to some degree, there’s more to the story for most families. . . In reality, this season is also a time of hectic chaos, heartache that seems to build up from a difficult year, and frustration over what we wish was true but isn’t. In a new book from Baker Publishing, “Loving My Actual Christmas: An Experiment in Relishing the Season”, Alexandra Kuykendall unpacks some great insights into being present AND finding joy in our own actual, imperfect Christmases. A Journey of Self-Discovery Unlike Any Other

Whenever you pick up a book by “Switch on Your Brain” author Dr. Caroline Leaf, be prepared to have your life changed in some way! This is definitely the case with her newest release from Baker Books, “The Perfect You: A Blueprint for Identity”. This book is for you if, as Dr. Leaf questions in the prologue, you’ve ever asked yourself:
“Who am I? Does anyone out there understand me . . . do I have purpose and meaning, a unique part in a divine plan? Does anyone understand who I am, or who I am meant to be? Do I even understand me? Can I accept the way God has allowed me to be? Do I really accept the blueprint for identity that God has given me?”
The Story of Acts Continues

I started a journey earlier this year with a remarkable book by Erica Wiggenhorn entitled “An Unexplainable Life: Recovering the Wonder and Devotion of the Early Church”. This was a 10-week study of the first half of the book of Acts, and was part of the Moody Bible Studies for Women series. I’ve been waiting patiently (well, sort of patiently!) for the second study in the Acts set to be released, and the time has finally come! “The Unexplainable Church: Reigniting the Mission of the Early Believers” was also written by Erica Wiggenhorn, and is a 10-week Bible study covering Acts 13-28.
