The incredibly rich, wisdom-packed and in-depth Moody Bible Studies for Women have a new addition to their series! Written by Becky Harling, the new 8-week Bible study is entitled “Who Do You Say That I Am: A Fresh Encounter for Deeper Faith”. In this study, we explore some of Jesus’ most impacting statements – his I AM statements.
The I AM statements of Jesus include:
- I Am He
- I Am the Bread of Life
- I Am the Good Shepherd
- I Am the Light
- I Am the Resurrection and the Life
- I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life
- I Am the Vine
- I Am the Living One – The First and The Last
Do you love exploring new editions of the Bible, sometimes in different versions and usually with different distinguishing features? I know I do! The newest Bible that I’ve had the pleasure of using is “The Woman’s NIV Study Bible: Receiving God’s Truth for Balance, Hope, and Transformation”. Published by Thomas Nelson in 2018, this lovely edition was edited by Dorothy Kelley Patterson and Rhonda Harrington Kelley, and is truly a keepsake Bible that will become a treasured possession to many women.
Have you ever had an experience where it feels like God sends you a gift at just the right moment in your life, when He knows you need it most? I’ve had this happen to me several times recently… “This I Know: Trusting Your Unknown Future to a Known God” is a 6-Week Bible study written by Laura Dingman, and is part of the Bible Studies for Women series from Moody Publishers. I haven’t quite finished the study yet, but so far nearly every lesson has felt like a special message from God to me.
I am excited to share with you about a special project that I am honored to be a part of. . . I was accepted as part of the launch team for a very, very precious book that I truly believe will transform the lives of women all over the world. Just what is the special book? It is “Dreaming with God: A Bold Call to Step Out and Follow God’s Lead” by Sarah Beth Marr.
“Deeper Waters: Immersed in the Life-Changing Truth of God’s Word” is the type of book that you will want to keep close by, on your nightstand or in your desk, because you will inevitably want to read and reference it time after time. Written by Denise J. Hughes (author of the “Word Writers” series) and published by Harvest House in 2017, this book offered so much more than I expected. Unquestionably one of the best non-fiction books I’ve read this year, “Deeper Waters” is a resource I cannot recommend highly enough.
If you have read any of author Heather Holleman’s works, you will know that she is passionate about discovering and revealing the hidden depths of life-changing verbs in Scripture. “Guarded by Christ: Knowing the God Who Rescues and Keeps Us” was released by Moody Publishers and, not surprisingly, is an in-depth journey of uncovering what it truly means to allow God to guard us in every way, every day.
Don’t you love Christian Spiritual Growth books that are written by an author who draws you in, shares her story, teaches you what she has learned about God, and becomes a friend in the process? For me, many books by Moody Publishers fit this description, and the latest one I’ve read is no exception. Although small in size, Heather Holleman’s “Seated with Christ: Living Freely in a Culture of Comparison” holds a huge impact in terms of living what she calls a “seated life” in Christ.
The book of Psalms is undoubtedly one of the most beloved books of the Bible. It certainly is for me. Still, I never truly realized the deeper meanings found throughout the Psalms. The many facets of the writing style, the structure, the imagery and many other aspects all work together to create this much deeper meaning than I would have understood at first glance. “Discovering Hope in the Psalms” by Pam Farrel, Jean E. Jones, and Karla Dornacher, is an invaluable resource to help you discover that deeper meaning.
I may have mentioned this before already, but I absolutely ADORE Moody Bible Studies for Women! Whenever a new title in this amazing series is released, I am anxious to give it a try—and I’ve never been disappointed. The newest study I’ve been enjoying is entitled “Included in Christ: Living a New Story from Ephesians” by Heather Holleman. This 8-week Bible study takes students of the Word on a journey verse-by-verse through the book of Ephesians, and unpacks what it really means to answer the questions: “Who are we? Where do we belong? How do we live included in Christ?”.
