A Fantastic Wilderness Suspense and Romance!

Sunrise” is the first book I’ve read by Susan May Warren, but you can bet your boots it won’t be the last!  As the first book in the “Sky King Ranch” trilogy from Revell, this novel swept me away to the Alaskan wilderness until I was so completely immersed that I couldn’t put it down if I tried.  And then, I found myself at a shocking, no-way-to-end-a-novel cliffhanger, so now I am counting the days until the second book, “Sunburst”, is released! Sarah Sundin’s Best Story Yet – Guest Review by Hayley

A book set during the WWII time period is something I am regularly drawn toward.  The stories are often very compelling, and none more so than “Until Leaves Fall in Paris”.   Continue reading

A Retelling Of Unique True Events – Guest Review by Hayley

What immediately caught my attention with this book was the synopsis.  A classically trained musician diving into the world of Native American music sounds nothing short of fascinating!  Plus it is based on a true story, documenting the work of real-life people who worked tirelessly to preserve pieces of a culture that could otherwise have been lost.   Continue reading

This New Series Has Potential

Lights Out” is the first book in Natalie Walters’ new “Snap Agency” series from Revell Publishers, and as you may have guessed from the title it falls into the Romantic Suspense genre.  The characters who form the Snap team are the driving force behind this novel’s success, because they are well-drawn individuals with secrets, goals, and hidden pasts – plus plenty of potential to carry this series forward for at least several more books.   Continue reading

A New Destination and Adventure In The American Wonders Collection!

In book #3 of the “American Wonders Collection”, Regina Scott takes us to another historically unique setting where a courageous woman takes a stand and faces seemingly insurmountable odds.  This is the very basic synopsis for each of the three books in the series, but in all other aspects of story and characterization, each one is different and special in its own way.  In “A View Most Glorious” we go back in time to 1893 and journey alongside Coraline Baxter as she becomes one of the first women to climb Mount Ranier in the state of Washington, in the hopes of raising awareness for the suffragette cause and gaining women the right to vote.   Continue reading

One Last Visit to Heritage, Michigan

I’ve followed the story of “Restoring Heritage” since the beginning, and have spent numerous pleasant afternoons in this little town, revisiting all the locals.  Since You’ve Been Gone” is the third book in what I assume is a trilogy(?) by Tari Faris, and it was lovely to meet a couple new characters and watch their stories both unfold afresh and tie in with the previous developments in the first two books.  An unexpected secondary romance is also featured, and will prove rather shocking as it illustrates that people really can change for the better when they accept God into their loves. Breathtaking. …

I wait with breathless anticipation for each of Joanna Davidson Politano’s new books.  When “A Midnight Dance” released from Revell, I was so excited to curl up during a peaceful afternoon and dive into Ms. Politano’s captivating new world of ballet – and then chaos struck our family.  I found myself instead reading this long-anticipated novel in the waiting room of a hospital – and perhaps this made the story even more poignant and thought-provoking.  At first it was a little difficult to ‘get into’, probably because of all the distractions in my life at the time.  But once I was ‘in’, oh my, it was hard to come back out! A Tale Of Secrets That Will Speak To Your Heart

I’ve never before read a book by Amanda Cox, but I was so impressed with “The Secret Keepers of Old Depot Grocery” that I will definitely be searching out more titles by this talented author!  Published by Revell in the summer of 2021, this book captivated me from start to finish with the story of how a family-run grocery store is the thread that ties generations of women – and their secrets – together into a heart wrenching tale of love and loss.   Continue reading

A Perfect End-Of-Summer Visit to PEI

What better way to end the summer than with a trip to Prince Edward Island?  I don’t mean literally, (though that would be nice!) but with Liz Johnson as our imagination’s guide, we can once again visit The Island in her new series from Revell entitled “Prince Edward Island Shores”.   Continue reading
