Every once in a while I enjoy reading a good Amish story, especially those written by acclaimed author Beverly Lewis and published by Bethany House. When I first read the back cover for Ms. Lewis’ newest book entitled “The Ebb Tide”, I knew this was a story I didn’t want to miss… Continue reading

The Most Action-Packed Story of the Series!
I’ve long anticipated the third installment of “The Nikki Boyd Files”, a Romantic Suspense series written by Lisa Harris and published by Revell. Fittingly entitled “Pursued”, this new story is an edge-of-your-seat nail-biter in just as many ways as the previous books in the series (“Vendetta” and “Missing”), but is perhaps even more descriptively violent. Continue reading
My First Experience with a Legal Thriller
“Hayden is on track to become the youngest partner in her prestigious DC law firm. . . If the case she’s just been handed doesn’t destroy her first.” When I picked up my first Legal Thriller I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but with a tagline like that, how could I refuse to give it a try, especially when I have enjoyed the author’s previous work? “Beyond Justice” was written by Cara Putman and published by Thomas Nelson in April of 2017. After reading the first few chapters of this out-of-my-comfort-zone story, I wondered what I had gotten myself into… Continue reading
The Newest Heart-Pounding Installment of “Elite Guardians”
An island covered with designed-to-kill booby traps. Two people whose past returns to haunt them. And a madman bent on revenge. Doesn’t this sound like a thrilling novel that will suck you in and never release you until the end? “Moving Target” is the third book in Lynette Eason’s “Elite Guardians” series published by Revell, and is truly Romantic Suspense at it’s best. After reading the first two books in the series, I grew very curious about the story behind Quinn and Maddy’s relationship… Well, this book finally reveals all that, and so much more! Continue reading
A Fascinating but Violent Conspiracy
The first book in Ronie Kendig’s new series, “The Tox Files”, is not for the faint of heart. “Conspiracy of Silence” is a heart-thumping book packed with action, surprise, and extreme danger on nearly every page. Of course, when the back cover of the book states “This is the way the world ends”, excitement should be expected. Adding a unique twist, this novel integrates history, specifically Biblical history, as well. “Study the past to define the future” is a quote by Confucius, and as an epigraph before the prologue, it opens up “Conspiracy of Silence” with on-target precision. Continue reading
Cousins of the Dove Book #2
After a lengthy wait, the second book in Harvest House Publishing’s “Cousins of the Dove” series has finally been released! Mindy Starns Clark and Leslie Gould have once again brought to life a fascinating tale which interweaves past and present into one compelling narrative called “My Sister’s Prayer”. Several characters are recurring and many are new, but the story itself is a natural continuation of the previous book entitled “My Brother’s Crown”. If you discovered the intrigue of that first novel, you won’t want to miss the continuing story of book #2! Continue reading
Nice Story for an Armchair Vacation
Once again Liz Johnson takes us on a sweet vacation to the beloved little Canadian island in her newest release of the “Prince Edward Island Dreams” series. “Where Two Hearts Meet” was published by Revell in the autumn of 2016, and continues the story of “The Red Door Inn”, but this time with two different protagonists – one a familiar face, and one a newcomer. Continue reading
Book #2 of an Unforgettable Series
I just finished one of the best books I’ve read in 2016, written by my all-time favorite author Michael Phillips. This story will hold a treasured place on my bookshelf, as well as in my heart, always. What book am I referring to? Well, it is the second in a Bethany House series called the “Secrets of the Shetlands”, which began in May 2016 with “The Inheritance”. The newest installment, which I just finished reading, is called “The Cottage”. Finally, the series will be wrapped up next summer with “The Legacy”. (And I can’t wait!) Each of these books is very closely interwoven, and picks up almost immediately after the previous book comes to a close. Continue reading
The Second Installment to a Fantastic Series!
The second “Serena Jones Mystery” has finally been released to all the patiently waiting fans of “A Fool and His Monet” (book 1 in the series). “Another Day, Another Dali”, written by Sandra Orchard and published by Revell, contains all the charm, wit, and subtle romance of the first book, but is a completely new adventure for Serena and her hilarious band of family, friends, and would-be-suitors. If you enjoy cozy mysteries, comedic romance, and writing that brings each scene to life with clarity, “Serena Jones Mysteries” are the books for you… Continue reading
