An Unforgettable Debut

I love reading debut novels for so many reasons…  One of them is because I am  never quite sure what to expect, and so often I’m blown away by the newly revealed talent of a special young author.  This was the case with a summer 2022 release from Revell.  Written by Sara Brunsvold, “The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip: All the wild ways to die could never compare to how she really lived” is a beautiful, unexpected, poignant tale that will make you cry and smile, laugh and ponder.  It is one of those books that can be read again soon, and still you will learn so much from the wisdom held in each page.   Continue reading

What A Sweet, Enchanting, Wholesome Story

Ann H. Gabhart’s new novels are an automatic addition to my reading list, because they are always the epitome of what Christian Historical Fiction should be.  When the Meadow Blooms” is no exception, and brought me so much joy while reading – it is just such a sweet, enchanting, wholesome, and compelling story, and I could hardly put it down. An Exceptional Story – Guest Review by Hayley

If you enjoyed Nicole Deese’s previous release “All That Really Matters,” then you will be excited for her new release “All That It Takes.”  This book brings secondary characters from the last book into the spotlight for their own story.  Continue reading

You’ll Never Guess Who Stars in the Final ”Hearts on the Heath” Story!

If you enjoy Regency Romance in the Christian genre, you most likely have read a book or two (or more!) by Kristi Ann Hunter.  Her newest release from Bethany House Publishers, “Enchanting the Heiress” is the third (and I’m guessing final) story in her “Hearts on the Heath” series.  This one I have long been awaiting, because it takes such an unlikely pairing of people, woven into a unique drama, and leaves you with a story you won’t soon forget! Invitations to Abundance: Such A Meaningful Experience

Have you ever picked up a book and, as you read it, realized it was such a timely message for your life right at this moment?  Invitations to Abundance: How the Feasts of the Bible Nourish Us Today” by Alicia J. Akins was just such a book for me, because the concept of biblical feasting has been a recurring theme in my life for the last several months.  None of the other resources I’ve read on the topic have been as deep and all-inclusive as this title though, and I am so thankful I was able to dive into this new release from Harvest House Publishers.   Continue reading

Excellent Resource For Those Studying Biblical Prophecy

In the past few years, my family has been led to do a great deal of research, reading, and learning about Bible prophecy and the future, specifically the End Times.  As to be expected, as we learn and study from various sources about this topic, many questions arise.  That is why a book such as Charles H. Dyer’s new release from Moody Publishers is so helpful and relevant…  Continue reading

Sarah Sundin’s Best Story Yet – Guest Review by Hayley

A book set during the WWII time period is something I am regularly drawn toward.  The stories are often very compelling, and none more so than “Until Leaves Fall in Paris”.   Continue reading

So Much More Than A Pretty Cover

I had never before read a novel by Christina Suzann Nelson, so when I picked up her new released entitled “Shaped By The Waves” I really wasn’t sure what to expect.  I knew it was contemporary fiction about a girl going back to her hometown, and the cover was lovely with the ocean and seagulls gracing the eye-catching paperback… But that was about it!  Boy, was I in for a surprise. Continue reading

The ”American Royalty” Adventures Continue

I have been excited for Grace Hitchcock’s new release from Bethany House, “Her Darling Mr. Day”, ever since last year when the oh-so-memorable first story in the “American Royalty” series became available.  This new tale continues with two of my favourite secondary characters, and takes place in the fascinating southern city of New Orleans in the year 1883.   Continue reading

A Compelling Journey to This Wonder of the World

A Deep Divide” is the first book I’ve read with Kimberley Woodhouse as the sole author.  I’ve previously read books she has co-written in collaboration with Tracie Peterson, but what a joy it was to see Kimberley’s voice shine all on its own!  Published by Bethany House, this story is the first in the “Secrets of the Canyon” series, and I am so looking forward to reading more stories set in this breathtaking and unique location.  From the first pages, this novel captured my attention and held it right until the end – with a sweet romance, nerve-wracking mystery, and lovable characters, I truly had a hard time putting the book down.   Continue reading
