Wouldn’t it be amazing if our favorite Christian non-fiction books had a coloring book to accompany them? Well, guess what?! One of the best non-fiction books I read in the year of 2015 now DOES have a coloring book to go along with it, and an absolutely adorable one at that… Fans of Emily P. Freeman’s “Simply Tuesday: Small-Moment Living in a Fast-Moving World” will undoubtedly be delighted with the new addition to the “Tuesday” collection: “It’s Simply Tuesday: An Adult Coloring Book”. “I Am Found: Quitting the Game of Hide and Seek With God and Others” is the third Moody Bible Study for Women that I’ve had the pleasure of reading. Written by Laura Dingman as a 6-week study guide, this volume is a little shorter than the other books in the series, but packs plenty of insight into each page.
“Reclaiming the Lost Art of Biblical Meditation: Find True Peace in Jesus” is an attractive, compact little book with a big title that makes a big promise. Written by Robert J. Morgan and published by Thomas Nelson in the spring of 2017, this book encourages (and guides) readers to find “the peace of meditation in a biblically sound way.” Although not large in size, the content is insightful and inspiring, and contains a vast amount of practical information to help readers 
If you are looking for a fresh, inspiring new way to study God’s word, I have a wonderful suggestion for you! “His Last Words: What Jesus Taught and Prayed in His Final Hours” was written by Kim Erickson and published by Moody Publishers early in 2017. This unique book is a 7-week Bible study of John 13-17, and takes readers through these chapters verse by verse. Because of the content and focus-verses of the book, it would make a wonderful study to delve into during the Easter season.
Are you familiar with the Bible story of Boaz and Ruth? I’m guessing you probably are. If you are like me, you’ve probably read numerous retellings based on this timeless story of love, grace, and redemption. While many of those retellings are well-done, none can compare with the new version by Jill Eileen Smith, entitled “Redeeming Grace: Ruth’s Story“, published by Revell in 2017. I have only read one other Bible-based novel by this talented author, but it is clear that her writing style and impeccably researched historical details are unrivaled in her genre. 
The first book in Ronie Kendig’s new series, “The Tox Files”, is not for the faint of heart. “Conspiracy of Silence” is a heart-thumping book packed with action, surprise, and extreme danger on nearly every page. Of course, when the back cover of the book states “This is the way the world ends”, excitement should be expected. Adding a unique twist, this novel integrates history, specifically Biblical history, as well. “Study the past to define the future” is a quote by Confucius, and as an epigraph before the prologue, it opens up “Conspiracy of Silence” with on-target precision. 
As the Easter season approaches each year, I enjoy being on the lookout for new stories that highlight the theme of Jesus’ last days on earth. This year I found a story that is told from perhaps the most unique perspective I’ve come across so far – through the eyes of a small, innocent dog! “The Dog Who Was There: A Novel” was written by Ron Marasco and published by Thomas Nelson early in 2017. In this sweet and oh-so-endearing story, a little dog named Barley
