What A Sweet, Enchanting, Wholesome Story

Ann H. Gabhart’s new novels are an automatic addition to my reading list, because they are always the epitome of what Christian Historical Fiction should be.  When the Meadow Blooms” is no exception, and brought me so much joy while reading – it is just such a sweet, enchanting, wholesome, and compelling story, and I could hardly put it down. A Mind-bending New Novel! – Guest Review by Hayley

When the Day Comes” is like nothing I’ve ever read.  It’s sort of like Christian historical fiction meets “Back to the Future” – if you can imagine that!  One description I would use in reference to this book is mind-bending.  The concept of time-travel is, of course, difficult to grasp.  It’s interesting to think of all the implications that would come with time-travel if it were actually real.  One of the biggest take-aways from this book is how much our choices matter, and how even small choices have the potential to change the course of history.  But most importantly, no matter our actions, God is sovereign over it all. Like “National Treasure” In A Novel! – Guest Review by Hayley

I have never read any other book like this before, but if I were to compare “The Master Craftsman” to a movie, it would definitely be “National Treasure.  It was such an intriguing read!  And the treasure in question was not some chest of gold, or ancient gem.  It was far more unique than that.  The main focus of the story was the Faberge Easter Eggs.   Continue reading

You’ll Never Guess Who Stars in the Final ”Hearts on the Heath” Story!

If you enjoy Regency Romance in the Christian genre, you most likely have read a book or two (or more!) by Kristi Ann Hunter.  Her newest release from Bethany House Publishers, “Enchanting the Heiress” is the third (and I’m guessing final) story in her “Hearts on the Heath” series.  This one I have long been awaiting, because it takes such an unlikely pairing of people, woven into a unique drama, and leaves you with a story you won’t soon forget! The Gripping Conclusion to the Windy City Saga

We can always depend on Jocelyn Green to bring us a heart-wrenching, soul-inspiring story that keeps us on the edge of our seats, as she sweeps us back in time and brings historical events to life through fiction.  I have long been awaiting the conclusion to “The Windy City Saga”, and it was finally released by Bethany House Publishers this spring – yay!  Drawn by the Current” is as unforgettable as the previous stories in the series, and our heroine, Olive Pierce, is a woman I can certainly relate to in ways both big and small.   Continue reading

The ”American Royalty” Adventures Continue

I have been excited for Grace Hitchcock’s new release from Bethany House, “Her Darling Mr. Day”, ever since last year when the oh-so-memorable first story in the “American Royalty” series became available.  This new tale continues with two of my favourite secondary characters, and takes place in the fascinating southern city of New Orleans in the year 1883.   Continue reading

A Retelling Of Unique True Events – Guest Review by Hayley

What immediately caught my attention with this book was the synopsis.  A classically trained musician diving into the world of Native American music sounds nothing short of fascinating!  Plus it is based on a true story, documenting the work of real-life people who worked tirelessly to preserve pieces of a culture that could otherwise have been lost.   Continue reading

A Compelling Journey to This Wonder of the World

A Deep Divide” is the first book I’ve read with Kimberley Woodhouse as the sole author.  I’ve previously read books she has co-written in collaboration with Tracie Peterson, but what a joy it was to see Kimberley’s voice shine all on its own!  Published by Bethany House, this story is the first in the “Secrets of the Canyon” series, and I am so looking forward to reading more stories set in this breathtaking and unique location.  From the first pages, this novel captured my attention and held it right until the end – with a sweet romance, nerve-wracking mystery, and lovable characters, I truly had a hard time putting the book down.   Continue reading

A Truly Classic Story, In My Opinion

“I set off for India.  And I discovered that everything I had thought important. . . isn’t.”

This quotation is the underlying theme weaving all the beautiful, poetic pages of Kimberly Duffy’s new novel together.  Gussie Travers, our heroine, pens these words in her journal, and in them we discover the cry of her heart – before she even fully realizes it herself.  Every Word Unsaid” is the third book I’ve read by this incredible Bethany House author, and she truly never ceases to amaze me with her meaningful and thought-provoking novels that also entertain the imagination and are a delight to the senses.  You simply cannot read one of her stories without wanting to visit India, with all its sights and sounds and smells and textures. A Rich, Thoughtful, and Intriguing Tale

Kate Breslin’s sweeping new wartime novel will whisk you away to Scotland, 1918.  Here the shocking drama of one young woman’s desperate attempt at a new beginning collides with a murderous plot to destroy the lives of many, and alter the course of the war.  As Dawn Breaks” was published by Bethany House late in 2021, and is a not-to-be-missed release by any fans of Ms. Breslin’ previous work, or readers who love masterfully-crafted historical novels.
