This has been a year filled with truly amazing new novels. Just when I thought I couldn’t possibly discover one more favorite book this late in the year… I did! But I should have known this would happen, when Joanna Davidson Politano released a new historical novel from Revell Publishers entitled “The Love Note”. Perhaps this talented author’s best work yet, this story did something to me that novels rarely do: it made me not only cry, but sob as tears streamed from my eyes! It was just that powerful, and touched my emotions profoundly. Continue reading
Book Reviews
An Unforgettable Epistolary
Amy Lynn Green is a brilliantly talented writer who, I am thrilled to say, has released her first novel from Bethany House Publishers – the very place where she has worked as a publicist for several years! Amy’s nonfiction articles have been featured in numerous publications that I’ve had the pleasure of reading over the years, and each one showcases her sparkling wit and thought-provoking wisdom. Now, this gift of writing has (at long last!) been transferred over into a beautiful novel that I almost missed, but I’m so glad I didn’t! Continue reading
Ancient Prophesies and Modern Agendas Collide
I really enjoyed Ronie Kendig’s “The Tox Files” series from Bethany House Publishers, and I’ve been continuing through “The Book of the Wars” series as a spin-off that is similar in style. “Soul Raging” is the final story in this series, and I must admit, it lacked a lot of the character depth and compelling plot points that brought the other stories to life for me. Yes, it still contains plenty of adventure, drama, intrigue, and all those elements of suspense – and yet the characters don’t come to life as they did in her earlier books. The story was so action-packed that it seemed like the lives of the characters came second place… and for this character-oriented reader, it was a bit of a disappointment. Continue reading
“The Brides of Hope Mountain” Reaches a Climax and Conclusion!
Sigh… You know that bittersweet feeling when you reach the final page of the concluding book in a series, knowing that your time with the characters is finished? “The Brides of Hope Mountain” series, written by Mary Connealy and published by Bethany House, has reached the end, and so our time with the three Nordegren sisters is over as well. “Her Secret Song” has long been on my reading list because I was so intrigued (and sometimes annoyed!) by the oldest of the three sisters, Ursula, but we had to wait patiently to see her story revealed. Continue reading
The American Wonders Collection Does Not Disappoint!
The “American Wonders Collection” is an exciting Christian Historical Fiction series written by Regina Scott and published by Revell. “Nothing Short of Wondrous” is the new, second book in the series, but each story stands alone and is not connected to the others. Continue reading
Sweet and Light – Like a Pastry!

“The Key to Love” is the first book I’ve read by Betsy St. Amant. Published by Revell in the autumn of 2020, this sweet, baking-inspired story is certain to touch your heart and tickle your taste-buds as we watch romance unfold between the most unexpected of couples!
Continue readingReturn to the Charming Town of Heritage!

I was so excited to see a new addition in the “Restoring Heritage” series from Revell Publishers, written by the talented Tari Faris! I read “You Belong With Me” several months ago, and was looking forward to discovering what would happen next in the town of Heritage. “Until I Met You” is actually several stories in one: the continuing story of Luke and Hannah (from the previous book) plus two new romances – Libby and Austin, and Nate and Olivia.
Continue readingThis Story Is Like A Poem – Guest Review by Hayley

When I first opened the cover of “Set the Stars Alight”, I had no idea just how special of a book I had the privilege of reading. Now, having come to the end of this incredible masterpiece, I truly cannot tell you how much it has blessed me.
Continue readingAnother Stellar Story from Jennifer Delamere!
Hurray! A new series by Jennifer Delamere begins! “Line by Line” is the first book in her “Love Along the Wires” series, and I adored each page of this delightful Christian Historical novel from Bethany House. Set in London in 1880, this is a story that is compelling, witty, and sweetly romantic – with plenty of unexpected twists to keep readers guessing along the way.
At first I thought “Line by Line” was going to be a feministic story filled with the movement for women’s rights and independence, and all the things that go along with that. (That’s not to say this is a bad thing, but I don’t generally care for stories that lean too much towards the “women don’t need men at all” mindset). Anyways, this wasn’t ultimately the case in this story, Continue reading
Thought-Provoking New Novel from Rachel Fordham
Although she is a relatively new author, Rachel Fordham is quickly making a name for herself with gentle historical stories filled with faith, hope, and love. Her newest release from Revell publishers is entitled “A Life Once Dreamed”, and although it is a gently moving story, it also features some pretty deep themes and character struggles.
