My summer just would not be complete if I didn’t get my annual Karen Witemeyer western fix! (Although October now, it’s better late than never, lol!) “The Heart’s Charge” is the new addition to the “Hanger’s Horsemen” series from Bethany House, and also a novel that can be enjoyed all on its own. When “A Midnight Dance” released from Revell, I was so excited to curl up during a peaceful afternoon and dive into Ms. Politano’s captivating new world of ballet – and then chaos struck our family. I found myself instead reading this long-anticipated novel in the waiting room of a hospital – and perhaps this made the story even more poignant and thought-provoking. My Top Must-Read Story Of The Summer
Sometimes we need a gentle, slow-paced story that reminds us to take a deep breath and just…. be. “The Nature of Small Birds” by Susie Finkbeiner was just such a book for me, and it was also one of my favourite novels of the entire year. This story is told in a chapter pattern where the entire book goes through the sequence of perspectives for three different family members, at varying time periods of their lives. The neat part?
