I was so excited to see a new addition in the “Restoring Heritage” series from Revell Publishers, written by the talented Tari Faris! I read “You Belong With Me” several months ago, and was looking forward to discovering what would happen next in the town of Heritage. “Until I Met You” is actually several stories in one: the continuing story of Luke and Hannah (from the previous book) plus two new romances – Libby and Austin, and Nate and Olivia.

Although she is a relatively new author, Rachel Fordham is quickly making a name for herself with gentle historical stories filled with faith, hope, and love. Her newest release from Revell publishers is entitled “A Life Once Dreamed”, and although it is a gently moving story, it also features some pretty deep themes and character struggles.
I adore all of Ann H. Gabhart’s novels that I’ve had the pleasure of reading, but her stories set in the Appalachian mountains are somehow extra-special. “An Appalachian Summer” released from Revell in the summer of 2020, and was a whimsical, romantic novel that carried me away to another time and place, and surrounded me with characters who quickly felt like friends.
You can always count on “A Coffey & Hill Novel” to be unexpected, compelling, and capable of keeping you flipping the pages long after you should have turned out the light and went to sleep! “A Dream Within A Dream” was written by Mike Nappa and Melissa Kosci, and published by Revell in the summer of 2020.
“What Momma Left Behind” by Cindy K. Sproles was a unique book in so many ways. Published by Revell in the summer of 2020, this book is set in the Appalachian Mountains in 1877, when influenza and typhoid outbreaks were running rampant in the region and left few families untouched by tragedy. Because of this setting, Cindy’s novel is definitely not a light and carefree story – but one that is inspiring and rich in historical details.
Ever since finishing Susie Finkbeiner’s first novel, “All Manner of Things”, I’ve been waiting expectantly for a second story from this amazing debut author. Well, the time has finally come, and “Stories That Bind Us” released from Revell in the late spring of 2020! Just as before, Susie’s new story quickly worked its way into my heart and imagination, until it felt like I, too, was living in the “Godlilocks-sized town” of 1960s LaFontaine, Michigan. (“Not so big that someone could be completely invisible. Not so small that everyone knew the business of everybody else. It was just right.”)
Each spring I look forward to warmer weather, more time outdoors, and a new book in Irene Hannon’s “Hope Harbor” saga! “Starfish Pier” is actually the sixth book in this heartwarming series, and it feels like returning to a beloved hometown as we once more walk the streets of this Oregon community, smelling the mouth-watering aroma of Charlie’s fish tacos and waving at old friends from previous stories. I know, it’s just a fictitious story, but it’s also so much more!
I was so excited to hear that bestselling author Amanda Cabot had released a new series! “Out of the Embers” is the first story in the “Mesquite Springs” saga, and was released by Revell in the spring of 2020. This emotional story will undoubtedly appeal to any fan of Christian Historical Fiction, as it combines masterful storytelling with a compelling plot and lifelike characters. Altogether, the result is a story that stays in your heart long after reaching the last page…
“In Want + Plenty: Waking Up to God’s Provision in a Land of Longing”. This title captured my attention and immediately filled me with feelings and images of my own story, my own life, my own desires and questions. Was it the same for you, too? Meredith McDaniel’s new book from Revell Publishers offers us a jumping-off point towards understanding God’s role as provider in our lives – not always in the way we want or expect, but always in the way we need.
Don’t you love it when you decide to try a new novel by a new author, and it ends up becoming your new favorite? That is exactly what happened to me when I read “Collision of Lies” written by Tom Threadgill and published by Revell early in 2020. With a fast pace, elements of humor, and a plot that will keep you riveted until the end, it was one of the most enjoyable Christian Suspense novels I’ve read in a long time.
