For those who have followed Lisa T. Bergren’s latest series, “The Sugar Baron’s Daughters”, the last installment of “Selah” has been long-awaited.  And what a finale it is. Continue reading

You Won’t Be Able to Stop Reading “The Bride Ships” Book #2!

When I pick up a Jody Hedlund novel, I expect a story that completely captivates my imagination with vivid characters, while immersing me in a unique time and place in history. She rarely disappoints. “The Runaway Bride” is the second book in “The Bride Ships” series published by Bethany House, and is at fault for causing me to read late into the night (and simultaneously wake up tired the next morning) because I couldn’t wait to find out what happened next! An Entertaining Continuation in the “Brides of Hope Mountain” series

Bethany House Publishers and author Mary Connealy just released the second book in her current series, “Brides of Hope Mountain”. “Woman of Sunlight” narrates the story of the youngest of three sisters who lived in complete isolation on the side of a mountain, until a ranching family changed their lives forever. When a gunfight occurs not far from their beloved home, with the target being one of their own, this flung-together-family realizes that their lives are about to change once again, and in ways they never could have predicted. A Powerful Beginning to Jocelyn Green’s New Series

Jocelyn Green always leaves me in awe when I finish one of her books. With masterful prose, she manages to bring history to life in ways that make me feel as though I am living alongside her characters from the past, feeling every emotion and witnessing every event just as they do. “Veiled in Smoke”, her new release from Bethany House Publishers, is the first story in “The Windy City Saga”. This dramatic novel brings the tragic event of Chicago’s Great Fire of 1871 to vivid existence in our imagination, following two sisters as they experience the fire – and it’s aftereffects – firsthand. A Beautiful Easter Tradition for Families

Are you like me, with the Easter season always seeming to sneak up on us until we suddenly realize that Good Friday is only a few days away? This is often how I feel, and so when I discovered Asheritah Ciuciu’s new Lenten-season devotional from Moody Publishers, I was so excited to use it as a way to prepare spiritually for the celebration of Jesus’ resurrection. Yay – Amanda Cabot’s New Series Begins!

I was so excited to hear that bestselling author Amanda Cabot had released a new series! “Out of the Embers” is the first story in the “Mesquite Springs” saga, and was released by Revell in the spring of 2020. This emotional story will undoubtedly appeal to any fan of Christian Historical Fiction, as it combines masterful storytelling with a compelling plot and lifelike characters. Altogether, the result is a story that stays in your heart long after reaching the last page… Continue reading

An Unforgettable Start to the New “Treasures of Nome” series!

Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse make an amazing author duo, and this spring they give us the opportunity to embark on a brand-new journey with the first book in their new series, “The Treasures of Nome”. Published by Bethany House and once again set in Alaska, this saga tells the story of the Powell sisters, who live with their mother and grandfather near the 1904 gold-rush boomtown of Nome. “Forever Hidden” zooms in on middle sister Havyn. Although she is the keeper of a few secrets that she’s never shared with anyone, she is content with her life on the farm – and completely unprepared for the changes that are about to turn her life upside down. A Compassionate Reminder of God’s Provision

“In Want + Plenty: Waking Up to God’s Provision in a Land of Longing”. This title captured my attention and immediately filled me with feelings and images of my own story, my own life, my own desires and questions. Was it the same for you, too? Meredith McDaniel’s new book from Revell Publishers offers us a jumping-off point towards understanding God’s role as provider in our lives – not always in the way we want or expect, but always in the way we need. Fantastic New Suspense Novel

Don’t you love it when you decide to try a new novel by a new author, and it ends up becoming your new favorite? That is exactly what happened to me when I read “Collision of Lies” written by Tom Threadgill and published by Revell early in 2020. With a fast pace, elements of humor, and a plot that will keep you riveted until the end, it was one of the most enjoyable Christian Suspense novels I’ve read in a long time. Continue reading

Masterfully Written… But With a Few Flaws – guest review by Hayley

I have eagerly awaited the release of the next installment of “The Codebreakers”.  I loved the first one, and also the previous series that it is related to.  “On Wings of Devotion” tells the story behind a character that we know from the previous book, Philip Camden. Continue reading
