What A Sweet, Enchanting, Wholesome Story

Ann H. Gabhart’s new novels are an automatic addition to my reading list, because they are always the epitome of what Christian Historical Fiction should be.  When the Meadow Blooms” is no exception, and brought me so much joy while reading – it is just such a sweet, enchanting, wholesome, and compelling story, and I could hardly put it down. A Mind-bending New Novel! – Guest Review by Hayley

When the Day Comes” is like nothing I’ve ever read.  It’s sort of like Christian historical fiction meets “Back to the Future” – if you can imagine that!  One description I would use in reference to this book is mind-bending.  The concept of time-travel is, of course, difficult to grasp.  It’s interesting to think of all the implications that would come with time-travel if it were actually real.  One of the biggest take-aways from this book is how much our choices matter, and how even small choices have the potential to change the course of history.  But most importantly, no matter our actions, God is sovereign over it all. A Sweetly Fun and Heartwarming New Summer Series – Guest Review by Hayley

I was happy to see that Suzanne Woods Fisher has begun another of what I like to call summertime series.  For me, a summertime series is usually light, gentle, and somewhat Hallmark-ish.  And, of course, set during the summertime (or sometimes spring).  This book is all of those things, and even has some loose connections to the author’s last summertime series of “Three Sisters Island.” Continue reading

Incredibly Vivid and Atmospheric

Atmospheric. Riveting. Haunting. Unforgettable.  All these words and many others have already been used to describe Jaime Jo Wright’s newest release from Bethany House Publishers, but I will use them again because you simply cannot explain “The Souls of Lost Lake” without them!  Even though I finished this novel several days ago, just naming the title transports me back into the story that is so masterfully written, I truly felt as though I was there.  I can picture each scene and location vividly, and watch as the characters step out of the mist and into my vision.  It is almost creepy, actually, how real this story feels! You’ll Never Guess Who Stars in the Final ”Hearts on the Heath” Story!

If you enjoy Regency Romance in the Christian genre, you most likely have read a book or two (or more!) by Kristi Ann Hunter.  Her newest release from Bethany House Publishers, “Enchanting the Heiress” is the third (and I’m guessing final) story in her “Hearts on the Heath” series.  This one I have long been awaiting, because it takes such an unlikely pairing of people, woven into a unique drama, and leaves you with a story you won’t soon forget! Continue reading

The Gripping Conclusion to the Windy City Saga

We can always depend on Jocelyn Green to bring us a heart-wrenching, soul-inspiring story that keeps us on the edge of our seats, as she sweeps us back in time and brings historical events to life through fiction.  I have long been awaiting the conclusion to “The Windy City Saga”, and it was finally released by Bethany House Publishers this spring – yay!  Drawn by the Current” is as unforgettable as the previous stories in the series, and our heroine, Olive Pierce, is a woman I can certainly relate to in ways both big and small.   Continue reading

Anxiously Awaiting My Next Island Visit -Guest Review by Hayley

The second book in “The Secrets of the Isles” series, “To Treasure an Heiress” starts out within mere days of the first book’s ending.  We are transported back to the exact time, place, and circumstances from where we left off, only with secondary characters becoming the leads.  These books should definitely be read in order, as the second book very much builds on the first.    Continue reading

The Treasures of Nome Series Will Always Hold A Treasured Place On My Bookshelf

The ending of a series is always a bittersweet moment, isn’t it?  The final story of “The Treasures of Nome” by Tracie Peterson and Kimberley Woodhouse was definitely sigh-worthy for me, as I’ve loved each moment of this saga from the start.  In “Ever Constant” it is Whitney’s turn for a story, and in my opinion she faces the most difficult struggles of all three sisters.   Continue reading

So Much More Than A Pretty Cover

I had never before read a novel by Christina Suzann Nelson, so when I picked up her new released entitled “Shaped By The Waves” I really wasn’t sure what to expect.  I knew it was contemporary fiction about a girl going back to her hometown, and the cover was lovely with the ocean and seagulls gracing the eye-catching paperback… But that was about it!  Boy, was I in for a surprise. Continue reading

Just A Bit Too Familiar…

I love a good princess story as much as the next girl – and when the said princess story is also a Christian Romance published by Bethany House, then you can bet that I won’t pass that one by!  In Search of a Prince” was written by Toni Shiloh, a new-to-me author with plenty of talent and potential. Continue reading
